Most of the covers we make are manufactured of high quality, 50% wool,
felt. This material is soft to the touch yet holds its shape to match the right
angles of the radio cabinets. The seams are machine sewn to minimize the
visibility of the stitches. If cleaning is ever necessary they should be dry
cleaned to avoid shrinkage.
Covering your rigs when not in use will help to preserve them in their best
condition. Especially if they are part of a collection that does not get on the
air frequently. Protecting a classic radio from sunlight, smoke, dust, and
accidental spills will more than pay for the cover in coming years.
Design
While most covers have been made with standard embroidery designs any
wording, in any color, you would like is available. (Not all logos are
available). Feel free to request any combination of wording and colors you
desire, including your call, name, or anything you would like to display to the
world.
Most of the covers produced to date have been made with the back as a
"flap". This allows the back to be folded under, against the top of the
cabinet, if the cover is slipped on to the rig from the front. If the radio is
installed with easy top access the flap will lay on top of the cables in the back.
If the radio is not cabled, the flap will protect the back by laying down flat
against the rear panel of the cabinet.
Some models of covers for receivers and amplifiers are made with a solid
back. Usually the solid back panels only partially cover the back to allow
power and speaker wires to remain installed. You may specify which you
prefer. This is mainly done on covers for vintage equipment...i.e Collins A
line,Johnson xmitters,etc.
